Dustin Dovala is a student of bioengineering at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He has always held a deep love for the natural world, from quantum physics to ecology, and currently researches in the field of molecular genetics. In 2007 he traveled to South Africa for the first time with his family in order to photograph wildlife, and instantly fell in love with the country and its great potential for experiencing untouched wilderness. Preserving that wilderness and its inhabitants is extremely important to Dustin. He tries to capture the beauty of nature in his photographs in the hopes that others will also generate interest in saving the environment.
