De Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife Trust, North West Province, South Africa

Location

Nestled in the foothills of the Magaliesberg in South Africa's North West Province, the De Wildt Cheetah Research Centre is situated an hour from Johannesburg and forty-five minutes from Pretoria. It is close to the Hartbeespoort Dam, a popular destination for day excursions from Pretoria and Johannesburg.

Directions from Johannesburg:

Take R511 from Johannesburg to Sandton (William Nicol highway).
Pass the Indaba Hotel.
Road is signposted R511 Brits.
Under Krugersdorp highway.
Past Fortlike garage on you right hand side.
Turn left at signpost R511 Brits.
Follow winding road for approx. 15km, over Hennops River to four-way stop.
Go over four-way stop, past Sediba Superspa on left, past aquarium on right to Total garage.
Turn right - signposted R511.
Approx. 4km to T-junction, take left fork.
Road climbs over Silkaatsnek pass.
Pass first right turn.
Second right turn signposted R513 Pretoria North - turn right.
From here it is approx. 4-5km on right hand side.
Travelling time from the Indaba Hotel is approx. 1 hour.

Directions from Pretoria:

Take the Pietersburg or Polokwane N1 Off ramp
Take the N4 Rustenburg highway
Go through toll gate
Take Pretoria Ga-Rankuwa off ramp.
Turn left towards Pretoria West
Turn right onto R513 Brits road.
We are 13kms on the left (farm 22)
