Relocation of cheetahs

In cases where it is found that the farmers are not tolerant to the presence of cheetah at all, efforts are made to capture the cheetah and to relocate them onto suitable protected areas. This relocation program has had the effect that a great number of cheetah have been rescued off farmlands and relocated to protected areas where they are treasured as valuable eco-tourism assets. These cheetahs that have been relocated onto these reserves are managed as a meta-population to ensure the genetic health of these cheetahs in these isolated fragmented populations.
